The right electronics prototype process depends on the question being answered. SLA may support detailed appearance and fit review, SLS or MJF may suit functional nylon prototypes, and FDM may support quick fixtures or larger concepts. A printed enclosure is not automatically equivalent to molded or machined production hardware, so the RFQ should state the intended test.
1. Is the prototype for appearance, fit, functional test, or a fixture?
2. Which interfaces must assemble with real electronics?
3. What heat, load, sealing, or surface limitations must be understood?
4. Will the next production process be molding, machining, sheet metal, or continued printing?
