Manufacturing specifications
Supplier-fit checklist for CNC machining for semiconductor equipment parts
Use these specifications to judge process fit, material fit, quality risk, quote inputs, and delivery expectations without relying on broad marketing claims.
Typical parts
Vacuum chamber bodies, lids, flanges, and sealing plates; Gas distribution plates, manifold blocks, and instrument mounts; Wafer-handling fixtures, locating rings, lift components, and robot interfaces; High-flatness base plates, frames, thermal plates, and service tooling
Material guidance
Aluminum 6061 or drawing-specified grades for chambers, plates, fixtures, and thermal structures; Stainless steel 304 or 316L where the drawing and process environment require it; PEEK or other engineering plastics for selected insulating, locating, or low-particle components; Use exact alloy, temper, resin grade, and material-document requirements rather than a family name
Process review
Roughing balance, stress relief, and final datum recovery on broad or asymmetric parts; O-ring grooves, sealing faces, port standards, blind holes, and cross-passage deburring; Post-finish dimensions after anodizing, passivation, polishing, or other specified treatment; Cleaning access, trapped volume, insert installation, and protected-surface handling
Quality definition
Flatness, parallelism, position, and sealing-feature inspection from functional datums; Passage cleanliness and documented burr-control method where requested; Material, finish, inspection, and revision records defined by the buyer; Double-bag, cap, separator, or clean packaging only to the project specification
Cost and lead time
Large material removal and broad flatness control; Deep cavities, fine passages, and difficult deburring access; Special cleaning, surface treatment, masking, and packaging; CMM reporting, material records, first-article scope, and revision control
RFQ package
STEP model and controlled 2D drawing; Vacuum, gas, thermal, and cleanliness context; Material grade, condition, and surface finish; Critical dimensions, inspection records, and packaging scope
