Material guidance
Choose the die casting alloy from castability, thermal, corrosion, finish, and mechanical requirements; Do not assume all aluminum die casting grades provide the same thermal conductivity; Define inserts, fasteners, gaskets, and dissimilar-metal interfaces with corrosion in mind; State powder coat, paint, conversion, or other finish requirements and protected areas
Process review
Fin fill, wall transitions, ribs, bosses, gate, overflow, venting, and ejector layout; Machined LED-board, gasket, lens, hinge, thread, and cable-entry interfaces; Broad-face distortion and sealing-land recovery after casting and finish; Tool service, cavity identification, trim, deburring, shot blast, coating, and assembly order
